Sandrine proposes to start a collective diary and JCM proposes to write a story with the following constraint : they’ll have to use all the cars appearing on his berliner notebook… they’re on it !

Calm before the storm…
All authors and the ChiFouMi team are all together, ready to begin the residency.
Anders Nilsen exposes his collective book project that he set up with Zak Sally and June. The authors will work in pairs and will have to draw one page per couple. A subject : “Break something” and a list of characters are imposed.

Choices are quickly made : Sandrine Martin choses “God”, Jim Rugg “Unicorn”, Eugène Riousse “Mad scientist”, etc.
The french authors randomly draw their north-american partner.
The north-american team is waiting for the results.
French/north-american couples are done, constraints are given.
Another exercise : Zak Sally brought a player piano roll and proposes the authors to imagine a way to use it.
Pierre Ferrero is inspired at once and the day is only beginning!
Thanks technology ! On a regular basis, we’ll let the webcam catch what’s happen here at the moment, in the main workroom. Movements from everyone will altern on this very website with blog notes that will allow everybody to check how the emulation is already rules here !

Today, a pretty great bunch of cartoonists from the US, Canada and Europe finally arrived at Minneapolis. It was saturday, everybody was kind of getting jetlag, so we figured out that the best to do before the rest of the residents come around tomorrow should be : just hanging around !
What we can do tell at the moment :
– some artists are so excited they actually started to work on collaborative stuff together at the airport around 5:00 in the morning ! And they even kept on doing it during the flight, which means that well, we got motivation here (and we saw/read it, and that was really good !).
– Deb’ (is it correctly spelled ? probably not) and Barbara did some of the best potato salad we ever had, while Zak did a great job with the saturday night kind-of-firt-meeting barbecue. Thanks guys, that was an impressive meal we got there !
