{"id":7839,"date":"2018-12-24T12:11:50","date_gmt":"2018-12-24T11:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pierrefeuilleciseaux.com\/?page_id=7839"},"modified":"2025-03-24T19:01:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T18:01:47","slug":"mathilde-van-gheluwe","status":"publish","type":"bcms_cpt_artist","link":"https:\/\/www.pierrefeuilleciseaux.com\/en\/artist\/mathilde-van-gheluwe\/","title":{"rendered":"Mathilde Van Gheluwe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mathilde Van Gheluwe started comics at the age of ten by drawing for <em>Le Journal de Marie<\/em>, an independant newspaper created by one of her classmates.<br \/>\nDespite a very strong appeal for undersea wildlife and whales, Mathilde ended up studying illustration at Saint-Luc Institut in Bruxelles and Saint-Lucas in Gand, which are both well renowned art schools in Belgium (and in western Europe).<br \/>\nIn 2016, <em>Atrabile<\/em> published her first comic book, a story about childhood and growing up co-written with Valentine Gallardo. The title <em>&#8220;Pendant que le Loup n\u2019y est pas&#8221;<\/em> (meaning &#8220;While the wolf isn\u2019t there&#8221;, using a reference to a french children song).<br \/>\nSince then, Mathilde\u2019s short stories were published by various editors such as <em>ShortBox, Bries<\/em> and <em>RuffHaus<\/em>.<br \/>\nCurrently in residency at <em>La Maison des Auteurs in La Cit\u00e9 internationale de la bande dessin\u00e9e et de l\u2019image (giving authors a favorable, multicultural, working environment through residency programs)<\/em>, she\u2019s currently working on a new project to be published by <em>Peow !
